March 1st In the gallery...No Provenance 10 yrs of making art
For the past ten years jonathon ray has been hunting, gathering, stacking and sorting. From this, has emerged art that touches on a past industrialism with an almost romantic symbolism. This body of work has a lonely lyrical quality without feeling isolated. Jonathon's eye for scale is built in, not cultivated. Each piece is without forced hand or apparent intent. Not that they are not full pieces, but as if they have been plucked fresh from ruins whose hearts still have pulse. While his pieces appear to have simply arrived at there present state, they are well worked without being victims of over process. This show is a must see and real treat from the Berkshires.

July 25, 2009...What the heck has been going on? Auction Update!
Hi all! We know it has been a bit since the last auction, and curious people are wondering - what's going on with Blue Dot?! When we decided to expand for spring 2009, we made a committment to creating a different type of auction gallery. Over the last couple of months, we have been very busy working to bring this new phase of Blue Dot's development to the next level. One essential improvement has been the total recreation of this website. This has been over six months in the design and making, and we would like to thank our exceptional web designer Jason Morin of Berkshire Digital Arts for all his hardwork, creativity, and patience! We are truly lucky to have such a talented individual in our corner. We launched the preliminary web-site in early July, and the completed version with full photo on-line catalog will be up in the next week ~ Just in time for our NEXT auction on August 8, 2009! Click HERE for a preliminary listing & links to photos. Complete on-line catalog with photos will be up on August 1, 2009.
We have many exciting announcements to make in the next couple of weeks, so stay tuned to the blog. For now, we thank you all for your encouragement and generous support and we look forward to seeing everyone on August 8th
2009...Our Home Town, Adams, MA & the Northern Berkshires
Blue Dot Auctions is very fortunate to be located in one of the most beautiful towns in Berkshire County...Adams, MA. Adams is nestled in the valley directly at the foot of Mt Greylock, the tallest mountain in Massachusetts. This provides a sweeping view of the mountainscape from nearly every vantage in town. The main street in Adams (Park Street) retains much of its original architecture and street lighting; those who visit often remark they feel as if they have gone back in time. We hope that should you come and visit, you will take some time to enjoy this beautiful area, perhaps with a visit to the Greylock Glenn, the nature preserve at the base of Greylock and one of the most beautiful places on earth. Or, a visit to the Susan B Anthony Meeting House located in the Maple Street cemetery. If you are interested in visiting some of the finest cultural attractions in the Berkshires, Adams is also located only ten minutes south of the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Arts in North Adams, MA and fifteen minutes from the Clark Art Institute in Williamstown, MA. We will be adding a full permanent page of things to do in the Northern Berkshires to the web-site soon. This truly is a destination area full of beauty, culture, and New England charm.
